Introduction
The internet is a central part of your everyday life, both in school and at home. You use it daily for IL, entertainment and connecting with friends and family are no longer limited to a desktop computer due to smart phones, TVs and gaming devices. However, the risks associated with the internet are greater than ever.
You will be working in teams to collaborate and develop your understanding across a range of online safety issues and produce a mobile app for Year 6 students on the topic. You are expected to contribute fully to your team and ensure that you review any work completed by others in your group. The design brief for the app is shown below. |
App Design Brief
Target Audience/Users: Year 6 students
Purpose: To inform and educate your users about risks of using the internet and how to report and respond to any online safety concerns that they have. In addition, it should explain how they can protect themselves and their computer online; and the legal issues to be aware of when using the internet, particularly when downloading apps, music, videos and other content. You will follow 4 key phases in the development of your app and are outlined below: |
1. Planning & PreparationAny app is useless without any content. In this phase, you will plan and produce the content for you app.
3. Testing & DebuggingWhen your app is complete you will need to test it fully to ensure that all aspects work so that your users can access everything that they need to. If you find any issues then this will be your opportunity to correct them.

2. DevelopmentOnce all of the required content is produced, you will develop your app using the website AppShed.com.
4. ReviewFinally, when the app has been developed and tested you can review its performance against the original brief
